Sylius Geo Plugin

This plugin adds IP geolocation to your Sylius store, on top of MaxMind's GeoIP2 database. When a visitor reaches the addressing step of checkout with no address yet, the country, city and postcode fields come back already filled in from where they are connecting. The same lookup is exposed to your templates, so the rest of the storefront can react to it too.

Features

• The address step starts filled in: Country, city and postcode are prefilled on a new address, which is the field a buyer is most likely to abandon over.
• Only when there is nothing to overwrite: An address being edited is left alone. The prefill applies to new addresses only.
• City and postcode are optional: Both can be switched off in configuration if you would rather only preselect the country.
• The country has to exist in Sylius: If the detected country is not enabled in your store, nothing is preselected rather than choosing something you do not ship to.
• Six Twig functions: geo_continent_code(), geo_country_code(), geo_city_name(), geo_postal_code(), geo_latitude() and geo_longitude(), usable from any template.
• A local database, not an API call: Lookups hit MaxMind's GeoIP2 file on your own server, updated with a console command, so there is no per-request latency and no third-party call at checkout.

Requires a MaxMind licence key (the free GeoLite2 tier is enough) and one bin/console geoip2:update to download the database.
